Melissa Kubacki, LCSW-C has been involved with HER Resiliency Center since its inception in 2015. As a clinical social worker with experience in community mental health and trauma-informed care, Melissa supported HER’s founder in creating a framework for program delivery that accounts for the unique needs of young women transitioning into adulthood. This framework became the Roadmap to Success, which outlines the way services complement and build upon one another to achieve HER’s mission.
Melissa has provided staff development services to HER since 2015, including supervision and training of employees, as well as support with fundraising and relationship-building.
In addition to her work with HER, Melissa currently provides therapy to individuals, groups, and families on the eastern shore of MD. She is trained in treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization. Her expertise on the ways that trauma impacts human development and functioning informs an approach to treatment that empowers clients and helps them increase a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives. Melissa’s approach to working with peers, clients, and program staff prioritizes relationship-building through validation, empathy, and education. She is thrilled to continue providing support to HER as the program grows.
